Dear Nicola, An artist who chooses to reference books not read, music not heard and art not seen must also consider themselves extremely privileged. Not only to be able to create awareness of unfamiliar cultural references, but also due to the privilege of breathing life back into dormant forms unexplored. As an aspiring architect it is wonderful to see you exploring the approaches adopted by both public entities (such as LBC) and private enterprise. I would encourage you to explore more of the same and create an open dialogue with your architectural peers in order to take advantage of the unique cultural forum that exists at London Metropolitan University. Dear Nicola, I can only congratulate you on your superb blog, but deplore your poor musical taste. somewhat akin to that of a football fan who adores Spurs (somewhat lacking).
I can only suggest a much more refined and suitable soundtrack to architectural education :-)
Surely it's a satrical and dirge of a song, mocking the effete intellectuals. In doing so they lay themselves open to being so themselves? Artist don't need mocking the torture themselves enough with self abuse and lack of self belief. Lessor gifted frequently have unbending belief in their abilty and fail to understand why others don't see it! Architects need sensitivity, artistic flair but need to demonstrate this to the public and clients who frequently do not live in an artistic lifestyle but will benefit from mundane and practical items build more beautiful; cost efficient works not made cheap.
